Devotion and commitment ritual
Devote ritual for love, connection and shared evenings
This aromatherapy ritual uses one candle and one essential oil blend as a quiet signal that it is time to soften, slow down, and really turn toward each other instead of drifting through another distracted evening.
Intent
Love and connection. Each time you repeat the same scent and sequence, your body learns that this is a protected pocket of time to be present, warm, and genuinely close.
What this love and connection ritual is for
Use the Devote ritual when you want the room to feel softer and more intimate, without turning the evening into a performance.
- Evenings when you want to feel closer again after long, separate days.
- At-home date nights where you want the space to feel warm, safe and tuned to you two.
- Late conversations, shared films or slow music where you want to lower your guard and be more present.
- Marking anniversaries, vows or private rituals with a scent and glow that quietly says “this matters”.
- Gentle solo evenings when you want to reconnect with yourself with the same tenderness you offer others.
How to use this aromatherapy ritual for love and connection
- Step 1 · Clear and soften the shared space. Clear one small island of table or bedside so there are only a few things in view. Dim overhead lights, switch on softer lamps, and put phones out of reach or in another room. Place the Devote candle where you can both see the flame safely without it dominating the table.
- Step 2 · Light the cue for closeness. Light the candle ten to fifteen minutes before you sit down together so the scent and glow can build. If you use the essential oil blend, place one or two drops on a ceramic stone or diffuser a little distance away. While the aroma spreads, decide on one small shared ritual for this burn: a check-in, a slow meal, a film, reading together, or simply talking.
- Step 3 · Treat extinguishing the flame as a gentle closing. During the evening, let the candle be a reminder to come back to each other when attention starts to scatter. When you are ready to end, blow the candle out slowly and treat that as the soft closing of the space you created together.
